How do I quit and ensure I will get my tips? (self.starbucksbaristas)

I want to quit this job on Friday and it’s probably not gonna end on good terms but I will still need to get my tips next week from this week, I just want to make sure they’re still gonna give them to be even though I will no longer work there. Is there a way they can prevent me from getting them after quitting?

best way to go out is professionally. Put in a two weeks notice. and your tips are your money. YOU KEEP THEM. just leave a good impression on them.

I was planning on putting in my 2 weeks on Friday but I honestly can’t take it anymore and I feel like they’re doing things on purpose so I get tired of it and quit on my own which I guess they’re accomplishing now but thank you for your advice!

damn i'm really sorry to hear that. I really do encourage you to put that two weeks in, and try to ride the rest out. so long as you get your shifts covered. at least try to end on good terms. I heard if drop everything and quit suddenly, you'll basically be blacklisted from Starbucks and will be nonrehire-able. OH I'm no expert on how that system works, but yeah. or if you feel like you were being mistreated, take action. go to the DM and to Corporate. tell them to get flushed and suffer the repercussions when you quit. then again its up to you.

Hopefully that’s not the case I already got my last write because my babysitter bailed on me last minute and I obviously couldn’t leave my daughter home alone, I was hoping to get hired at another location but I don’t want to directly transfer because of the way I’ve been treated I’ve tried reaching out to corporate but they take my sm’s side

You will get your tips don’t worry. And if you don’t go straight to your DM. But there’s no reason you shouldn’t get them at a corporate Starbucks they’re very good about that.

I’m quitting after I work my shift on Friday so I’ll just give my aprons then, or should I keep one to make sure that I get my tips next week and return one then?

What? Keep them. They won’t give them to anybody else they get new aprons for new partners.

Best would be to return them clean when you get your tips, but your store manager might want them when you quit. Is your manager working when you quit? Do they know you are quitting? Have you given a 2 week resignation?

I haven’t given them my 2 weeks, They don’t know i’m quitting I just can’t take it anymore. Which is why i’m worried.

Ok, I can understand, don't worry, your tips are yours no matter what. I would just be as polite as possible, and bring clean aprons when you pick up your tips. Maybe take a pic of the schedule for next week and get your tips when your favorite shift is working. And not during peak. Good luck to you and your venture!
