sooo I've been a partner for like 5ish months now, and my strongest is drive, BECAUSE that's the only position I get put on. honestly, I get it, there are partners who have done this for way longer than I have, and are much better at it than I am.

THATS FINE HONESTLY

but then why, oh please my dearest supervisor and fellow baristas (not in general just at my store lol), why do you become so unapproving when I am having trouble and ask for help on the bar? why the looks of contempt and annoyance if you weren't even doing anything better except LITERALLY standing by the brewed coffee and watching me struggle to make 5 grande triple shot almond coffee frappuccinos in a venti cup (not really, but almond frapps really annoy me hahaha)? and then you have the audacity to ask "how come you havent made any hot drinks?" oh you mean the ones that are three orders after my frozen hell? it's a mystery to me too ma'am, let's talk about it WITH OUR HANDS

jk

well unless you wanna talk in sign language

but I dont know sign language so jk

but really, I just want some bar time so I can make cute latte art really fast and not get yelled at by the combined force of every Karen in the houston area 😪

I would have a talk with your supervisor or manager about how you feel and see if you can get some help.
Kudos to you for doing drive, I work in a mall and when I take hours at a store with a drive thru I have a harder time performing because I can't focus wearing a headset. There's too much noise for me, I can't focus for shit and everything starts going to hell lol
I'm lucky enough to have a solid crew, it's very nice to feel confident in my coworkers and know that everyone does their part.
Honestly the store I was trained at had this feel too, I was always on front or drive at first, never bar. I made like 1 or 2 hot drinks in training and that was it.
I've ran bar by myself at the mall, asking questions to be sure I was doing things right, and learning along the way, everyone is helpful.

yeah I was thinking about asking for some more mid shifts when the peaks arent as bad like in the morning and seeing of I could get bar time then to practice some. thanks!
