Question about our partner food and bev. (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by curls1221
If I want to get my partner food and beverage at a different location then the one I work at, will that work? Let’s say I get off work, can I go to another Starbucks and still get my food and beverage for working my shift that day? (As long as it is 30 minutes before or after my shift)

Nope, it needs to be at your location.

No, they have no way to verify that. It’s suppose to be at the store you’ve worked at within the 30 min window.

Thank you!

No prob! And yeah you can pick up your markout anywhere in the world I believe. I’ve used my partner discount in Mexico( I live in the USA) and it still worked. But the partner hub is a great resource for this kind of information.

I mean, you could, but you'd have to explain to the barista that you're about to go into work/just got off work and show proof of it. That's so easy to lie about and take advantage of so I personally wouldn't trust it and would ask them to pay. The only situation I can think of that's somewhat similar is if a partner is picking up product from store A and going to store B immediately after, and store A offers them a drink, but I think that's acceptable.

What about our coffee markout? I’ve seen partners come to my store that don’t work here but wanted to pick up their markout. Is that technically okay?

Yeah, you can pick up your markout at a different store. I’ve done it myself as well as had many partners from other stores get it from me. Sometimes Sunday night comes and you need to just go to the closest store to get your pound of beans.

Yeah you can get beans at another store. With your daily food markout and your weekly coffee markout they're counted into some system, and when the benefits eligibility audit is ran every 6 months they look at your numbers for that too. So say in 6 months (26 weeks) you markout 39 bags of beans... obviously there's a problem. Because there's a way to track that, you just have to keep yourself accountable otherwise they can take action against you. Same thing with the food, if you worked 100 days (just as an example) but got 200 food markouts, they have a way of knowing. I've heard the excess gets deducted off of your paycheck but I've also never seen someone go over that so idk if that's true lol

I’ve always wondered about the coffee markout and if/how it’s tracked. I find it a little fishy when we get partners from other stores getting their markout at our store. I felt like we had quite a few people who decided to come to our store over the winter holiday to get their pound of beans.
