Tired of working EVERY Saturday and Sunday. (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by afox997
Since I’ve started working at my location, I have been scheduled for every weekend and I am scheduled for this to continue for every schedule in the coming 3 weeks. I don’t want to change my availability as unable to work Saturdays, because that would be a real pain in the ass for everyone and I don’t mind working SOME Saturdays. But never having a weekend off and my weekends always ending up on Tuesday/Wednesday and things of that nature all the time is getting super old. My availability is fairly open right now, from 6:30am-to close 7 days a week. I’m always willing to be flexible with my days off when I’m needed. Any tips on steps I could take before taking the request of removing Saturdays from my availability? I feel like that might put my job at risk, but I’m not sure. I feel like it’s a drastic measure to take for wanting the occasional weekend-day off.

I don’t work for a corporate store, so I’m guessing its a little different for me. But my availability is set at every other Saturday. Would you have the option to request a change like that? Again, could be totally different since I’m not at a corporate store, but it might be worth looking into so you aren’t saying no saturdays at all! Somewhat of a compromise!

Update: I wanna ended up taking Sundays of my availability with no issue. I usually work mornings so I still have most of my Saturdays, including nights from now on 🙂
