Openers used to find various bodily fluids around our doors wayyy too often. A big part of why I quit was homeless men following to my car and watching drug deals right outside our doors in the middle of the day too often for comfort. Cops basically told us “you can’t call for every little thing” even though people were on drugs and throwing chairs in our lobby and harassing us. Sorry you’re having to deal with this now :(

We had a homeless guy screaming belligerently in the parking lot the other day. Not at anyone in particular, just screaming profanities into the air. But we’ve also had a man who wasn’t homeless who hit and sprayed mace at another customer. He had been yelling at us because we didn’t have skinny mocha at the time, and it got to the point where another customer walks up and told him to calm down, it’s just coffee. So then he really lost his shit and punched customer #2 because he told him to calm down, then sprays mace everywhere in the lobby. Crazy shit is always happening at Starbucks for some reason.

We literally have a guy that tries to smoke cigarettes in our lobby and bathroom. It’s out of hand.

we have a homeless man who steals, yells at customers and baristas, harasses customers, digs in trash cans, destroys our bathroom property and doesn’t flush, stays in the cafe open to close, stays in the bathroom for 1-2 hours, and begs people for money in front of our drive thru and cafe. he is borderline creepy with a couple baristas, including me. we have approval to kick him out, and i have no idea why we haven’t yet.

Do you work at my store?! We have several homeless people that just love to stick around our lobby. They smell absolutely terrible, come up and ask us for water/the time every 30 mins or so, and some of them have harassed customers by yelling at them, and even locked our doors during operating hours and laughed at customers when they tried to pull in the door to find it locked! It's ridiculous. I've even had one lean over the sneeze guard around our bar and snarl and growl at me while waiting for their cup of water. Like GOD FORBID I make this latte for drive-thru before I make your water. Jesus.

Yep we have the same issue. My store is an open kiosk in a mall and we don’t have floor to ceiling walls so when we close we can only do so much to keep people out. We often have the issue of stealing, people harassing our customers, and just last week we had our second homeless person to pass out and possibly die right in the middle of the store area and have to be revived and carried off by EMT’s.
I understand the concept of the third place and trying to not make assumptions but we have honest to god have mall security and the cops on speed dial and we call them at LEAST two or three times a day.
