I wish we had a no ordering at the window policy at my store. people ordering extra shit at the window is the main thing that messes up our dt times.

There has to be more story behind this.
I work in a Starbucks inside a grocery store. There are only six of us in total, it's kind of hard to get away with anything here. Having a counter and a drive through has to be crazy sometimes.

It was pretty normal at first but we have a policy that customers cannot order at the window. This dude and his wife and 2 kids came through the drive thru and ordered their drinks, and after I got done tendering them the guy proceeded to ask if he could add a hot chocolate to his order. When I told him we couldn't take orders at the window he proceeded to get smart and ask "so you're going to have me go around again?"
I barely heard what he said so I said "yeah"... and then his wife left the vehicle and went inside to order. Little did I know that she legit pointed at me when she got to the register and proceeded to lie and claim I didn't hear them at the order menu, when they didn't order a hot cocoa at the order menu... they tried to order at the window. So, that kind of ruined my day.

Aww, don't let a snotty thing like that ruin your day! I mean, I completely understand. I had a lady once, after ordering and when I still worked in a full sized Starbucks, go immediately to the hand-off counter while I was making drinks. After she had stood there long enough for me to think we had gone through all the drinks that had been ordered since she had started standing there I asked her what drink she was waiting for, because I didn't want her drink to have been missed somehow. She then went to the manager and claimed I had asked her nastily why she was waiting there. Put me in a bad mood until one of my favorite regulars came through. Just remember, you only have to put up with their shitty attitude for one single order, they have to live with themselves.

Normally I don't let it get to me but I think it was just compounded by the fact that I was (and still am) running on very few hours of sleep and I just wasn't having any of it today. Hopefully I don't see them again.
