It's a fireable offense to use your numbers and give someone else a free drink. I just asked my current shift whose been at starbucks for 4 years. And the manager shouldn't be using anyone else numbers for anything. Again a fireable offence.

Why not his own? Or just right now recovery like a normal corrupt barista?

Hmm. I feel like if your manager does something like this, then they can never reprimand you for doing the same.

Um wtf

You should be wary. Your manager shouldn’t be using your numbers or need your numbers. Talk to your manager about this whole situation, because it just seems weird to me.

Yeah no that’s not okay. Managers have their own way to comp stuff they don’t need your numbers. No one but you should ever use your numbers.

No, they were probably ringing on their own till. They could have gotten the drink for the friend with their numbers on another till. Doesn’t make a difference in the system other than a marked out drink.

Depends on the standards at your store. At my first Starbucks location we gave cops free drinks, so we were always sharing partner numbers to mark out drinks, and we would generally do the same for friends. It was totally acceptable at that store.

Yesterday at my current (licensed) store I saw one of my employees use their employee card to shift meal a $28 order for his friends. I can honestly tell you my SM wouldn't have batted an eye.

That being said, I agree with @Roskosity. Your manager should be setting an example for your store, so if this is not something that is deemed appropriate there, he has no business using your numbers to do it for his friends.

I would report them. Using your numbers to give out free drinks can get you fired, your manager doing this is putting YOUR job on the line. Talk with them, preferable over text so you have proof you tried to work things out, and if it happens again report them and use the text messages as evidence if need be.
