Tattoos? (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by LizzieRue
I'm a shift since November and haven't come across any issues with my tattoos (half sleeves and some baby inks), but next I'm finishing up my forearm portion and am wondering what the protocol would be. I'm off the day after, so it won't be super open and fresh AKA shiny af, but has anyone dealt with this? Long sleeves, wrap it up, or just be support... 🤷🏻‍♀️I've read the handbook religiously (we have extremely curious green beans, so I like to know my stuff) but nothing in there for the fresh ink. Thanks guys!

PS, did anyone else not know that bux had collabed with Ariana Grande for the cloud drinks? I was SHOOK and confused on the lit playlist

I have a full sleeve and whenever I add to it I just wear a thin, tight fitting, long sleeve. Something that will let the tattoo breathe but keep all the scabby flakey bits contained.

I like my tattoos to get as much air as possible, so a thin fabric works for me better. And I choose something tight fitting to the tattoo so it doesn't rub too much/the scabs don't fall down my sleeve lmao.

Get as many as you want, my shift is pretty much covered head to toe like literally... he has more ink than plain skin and it’s never been an issue. Though he does get a lot of phone numbers :p

When I had fresh ink on my arm I just wrapped it and wore a sweater at work. I don’t think there’s any rule about it though, me covering it was more for me to make sure my new tattoo was protected more than anything :)

I didn't wrap mine up after the 1st 24 hours

Me and two other of my coworkers just got some work done. One had his wrapped and they put him on drive thru to make it easier (was from his hand to his shoulder)

I've just been watching mine but the shifts at more store are super easy to work with and if someone has a new tat on an arm or something they'll usually put them on front or drive thru so they aren't on bar. Never had any issues coming into work with it wrapped or anything.

I have a tattoo on the back of my arm and my finger, no sleeve here yet, but I didn’t wrap them. Every once in a while I’d go in the back and put some aquafor on them and then get back on the floor

Either wear short sleeves or wrap it. Not much science to it. And I don't think there would be any policy regarding them, like anywhere lol
