Partner resources (self.starbucksbaristas)

Have you guys ever used partner resources such as making a complaint? I’m thinking about it but don’t wanna start “drama” or get in trouble more.

If you want to be anonymous don't give them your name. It said that you can request to be anonymous but if you give them your name they can't guarantee your anonymity so give a fake name or no name at all.

The company is very explicit that you will not get in trouble. They want things to be reported if anything goes wrong.

I haven’t used the resources myself but you will not get in trouble. And that info is confidential.

I would also call EAP for further assistance/support

A couple of things to note. Your report will be confidential, but if it is about a very specific event, there’s a good chance people will figure out it was you. It just happens, people talk. It all depends on the incident, and the severity. You weren’t specific and you mentioned “getting in more trouble”, so I can’t give you specific advise, but if there’s an investigation and they find that you were at fault in some way, you could theoretically get in more trouble.

But I don’t know the specifics of your situation. I can only speak from what I’ve seen happen at my store, a barista called about an incident and subsequently both of them were let go. I’m not saying this to dissuade you from calling, only to let you know it totally depends on the situation. The one at our store was totally bizarre, I won’t go into specifics but it doesn’t surprise me that they both got fired.

I haven’t done anything wrong it’s just that my manager mainly and some shifts pick on me and then put me on front register when I am more than capable of anything else. My manager snaps at me for no reason and questions my abilities, maturity, age, and knowledge. If she’s ever there I dread going to work because I KNOW she’s going to pull me aside and critique me while all the shifts LOVE ME and tell my manager how awesome I am. So it’s like it’s just the management and everyone knows that I get treated badly and it’s like “I’m being treated like you” which shouldn’t be a thing. There’s a lot to vent about

Ok, I’ll try to keep it somewhat short, but I can totally relate, I’ve been in a very similar situation, you should report it, and there’s two avenues to doing so. The first would be to email or call your District Manager, the second is reporting to corporate. I would recommend starting with your DM, then escalating to corporate if that doesn’t solve it.

In my experience this resolved the issue without having to call the partner resource line. But if you’ve got a crappy manager and a crappy DM, it might need to go further.

One thing to note, make sure you write down the days it happens and specific times. Start a note on your phone and record what happened when you get a break or after your shift. Don’t just trust your memory, have specifics recorded when the details are fresh.

I can go into more specifics about my personal experience if you want, but I’ve been on both sides. I’ve felt personally attacked by a shift before and had to get that resolved. As well as having a partner contact our DM about me. Both instances ended up getting resolved in a professional manner with no backlash. So I definitely recommend starting there.

The thing is my manager and dm are literally best friends. Thank you.

In that case, yeah, definitely go with partner resources then.
