Move the tip jar under the counter when you walk away from it, ESPECIALLY for DT. If your customers are stealing when you walk away for brewed coffee, try connecting with them by turning around and talking to them while doing so (if possible). They're less likely to steal if you're watching and talking to them. Otherwise it might be wise to just keep it out of reach, unfortunately.

Just put it indoors for DT and take out any bills and put them in the depo bag ASAP bc ppl mainly shoot for bills

I’ve seen people Velcro the plexi to the counter. At first when I read this I thought you were looking for tips on stealing from starbs and thought ‘wow that’s bold!’ 😂🤣

Have an open tip bag in a plexi underneath the counter where it is both out of sight and inaccessible from customers. Anytime the tip jar goes over two dollar bills and a small amount of change, pull it from the tip jar into the hidden tip bag. This ensures that there is still a tip jar on the counter for customers to see and be reminded to tip, but if anyone steals it, there getting away with approximately $2.50 or less while the rest of the tip money is safe.
Edit: forgot to add, drop the tip bag into the safe often as an added precaution
