Are you guys marking the cups or just making them as they order them? If you are marking the cups and ringing them in properly, then the question isn't "are you making them as ordered" but now is instead, "was it ringed in as ordered?" If the question is always down to you, then you need to make sure the proper steps are being taken so as to avoid that, as much as you can.

In my experience, management that will chew out a worker without a second thought like that either was hired into management and has never done the job themselves, or is trying to score points with customers and really don't care about employees. If it is the second, I think it might be time to find a new job or position.

Thanks for your quick response. My manager has been there for a few years, I’m not sure if she’s been hired directly into the manager role.

I just ring up the orders, it prints on the printers and another barista/employee makes it

I'd just make sure to state back exactly what the customer ordered when you are stating the total, and look around and see what other jobs are available in your area. I don't really know what other advice could actually help, sorry.

It’s ok; I’ve tried this but if it’s like:

Customer: Tall Pike place

Me: ok, tall pike place.
(Or something on that variation)

I get death stares or the customer will be like “uhh yeah that’s what I just said, dummy”

A customer the other day asked me why I’m so slow lol 😂

Doesn't matter, keep doing it anyway. You know why you are doing it. It'll get to be second nature soon enough. "Okay, so tall Pike Place, that'll be 2.09." Be annoying if you have to. Customers are dumb, they'll forget soon enough, but catch enough of them correcting you and you'll start to feel better about the whole situation.

Yeah, fuck your manager. Mistakes happen in this billion dollar corporate coffee shop.
