I’m so sorry you went through that, that sounds so shitty. After I was sexually harassed by a customer at my previous job, I’ve been trying harder to recognize when I should put my foot down when it comes to being disrespected by customers. I know it’s shocking in the moment but if anything happens like this again, I really hope you can recognize that you don’t have to speak or serve a customer if they’re being cruel to you. Just tell your shift or your coworker “No I’m not going to speak with them, I’m going to do this task instead. Tell them I’m gone/on lunch/etc”. I don’t want this to come off as “oh you should have done this” because I completely understand what it’s like to feel threatened by a stranger while on the job. I just really want to emphasize that your safety comes first and your shift/coworkers will understand if you choose to step away if something like this happens again, when a customer is trying to provoke you

Sorry this happened, don’t understand how people aren’t embarrassed to act like this in public. Just curious though, would your manager be supportive if you just give her the whipped cream just so she moves on and doesn’t make a scene?
