Do you recommend working at Starbucks?(self.starbucksbaristas)

I start college in the fall, and I'm looking for a place to work if I need the money. Right now, I work at a Panera, but I'm leaving that place once I move. I figure I'd like Starbucks a bit more, since there are no dishes and silverware to wash and the stores are generally a lot smaller. I'm sure working at Starbucks has its own downsides though, so I'm curious what a barista would suggest I do.

I just *really* need to emphasize that at starbucks you absolutely *will* be washing dishes and silverware. Often.

It's the hardest job I've ever had, but I highly recommend it! I feel like I've learned a skill by working on bar and my hand to eye coordination is greatly improved, though I do spill a gallons worth of milk during peak 😂 I've connected with my partners so fast and I feel like they are my best friends, and I've never made friends that fast in my life.

I fully reccomend it. I reccomend though if you get hired to let them know you only want to work 20 hours. At first! Never make your availability whenever cause that can end very bad for you. I say 20 hours cause it's the minimum hours you need to work to get the benefits and you're also in school so you can see how much you can work and if you need to do more or less.

Thanks. 20 hours is about what I do at Panera now, so that would work pretty nice. I think I'll go for it.

I used to work at Panera until I decided to go work at Starbucks, and it's so much better. Way more benefits and opportunities. At the end of the day it's still a customer service job, so if you're up for it go for it!

You're going to have to put in effort in order to get to the point where you will genuinely enjoy the job.
