Regular who parks in handicap spot and calls ahead instead of mobile ordering (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by 2Dkid
We have a regular(we'll call her Sara) and Sara has started calling in instead of mobile ordering her drink, claiming that her mobile app is 'broken'. Low and behold, the reason she does this is because her drink is a grande caramel frappechino, extra caramel drizzle, extra whipped cream, sub shots for frappe roast. The sub shots isn't an option in the mobile app 😒
Well I never really thought anything of it, she'd call, I d make the drink a little after the phone call if I had time between all of the legitimate orders ahead of her or finish those drinks then do hers.
Well she fucked up and decided to call while I was on my lunch, I was eating Walmart sushi in my car when I see some lunatic pull up and race to one of the two handicap spots available in our parking lot. This parking lot is meant for three businesses. Two handicap spots for three businesses. Busy businesses.
I see Sara's ass come out the car, so I looked, no handicap tag or plate, no nothing. With the way this woman was power walking to our door, Im gonna guess she didn't need that spot.
I decide it's time for me to go inside too just to see what she's doing, she goes in and gets pissy that her drink wasn't ready, y'all this bitch has not put in an order, she called the store to tell us she was on her way like bitch who the fuck are you?
After I told my shift that I saw her park illegally, he got pissed too and let the other shifts know ab her rude and ignorant behavior. Now it's a general consensus that no one likes her anymore and we want to know if we can do anything about her. She's rude a d impatient when she comes in, makes us make her drink by calling ahead even though that's technically not allowed lmao, then gets pissed if that drink isn't made and at the handoff when she steps into the store. Lmao if I ever get promoted to a shift I'm deadass putting a stop to that shit I'm not about to deal with it.
UPDATE!!!!
She called in on Sunday, parked in handicapped spot, looked like she was thinking about just walking away with the drink she requested to be made ready for her when she got there. She leaves, I get moved from bar to drive thru to cover a ten and I see her RUN THROUGH A STOP LIGHT IN THE BUSSIEST INTERSECTION OF MY TOWN.

Tell her change her name on the app to "sub espresso" or something, then whoever makes the drink will know. Fuck this calling ahead bull.

This actually works. We have a woman who orders a caramel frappuccino through mobile order, and she wants it Cali style. Since there's no button for that, she deadass changed her name to "Nadine-cali style" and we do it Cali style every time without fault.

What’s Cali style?

It's the term we use when people want caramel drizzle around the cup. I heard apparently it's only an Ontario thing lol

Weird!! I always do that if someone orders extra caramel drizzle

Yeah I would just be like sorry we can’t do that and let the pieces fall where they may. It’s unnecessary to make special permissions for people that don’t deserve it ✌️

Your store is allowed to take orders ahead of time(that isn’t a mobile)? Hmm is it really allowed? Our store doesn’t do that. I’m sure she was lying about her app not working. If it isn’t working, she can update it. But yeah usually customers aren’t allowed to do this kind of thing on the phone.

It's not allowed. We gave her special accommodation because we we're told her mobile app was broken and wanted to 'make the moment right!' now she's just abusing the privilege she's been continuously getting away with. The shifts need to make a decision to not allow it anymore otherwise it's gonna get messy.

You tell her you can’t take orders over the phone. Regardless if she says “I’ve done this before” just say “it’s policy we don’t take orders over the phone. Thank you for understanding have a nice day” and hang up.

Introduce her to blonde espresso because the app let's you sub out blonde espresso for frap roast. If you are a flavor reinvention store, your frap roast is already espresso roast. Tell her broken app ass that she needs to call corporate to have them help walk her thru fixing her app. Making her moment right has become a habit and must be dealt with. GOOD LUCK !!

BTW we had a customer do this repeatedly because she likes half almond milk and half nonfat milk 🙄. On the 4th order I just said nope no more she complained to my SM who then answered that shes always welcome to get into the regular line and wait like all the others, she said but I shouldnt have to I have an app, to which she got told then use it.😂😂😂
