Harassing customers and co workers (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by suckmyassleey
So I worked at a store and I had a regular customer comes in everyday always try to kiss touch and hug me, it was soo gross and I felt really uncomfortable I told my manager several times I wrote her letters, I told her verbally, and she did nothing to help me the customer well call him M kept trying to give me and other baristas “gifts” even after he was told to stop. And a co worker (well call him X) of mine kept making sexual remarks similar to M and I told my manager she spoke to X giving him a warning telling me that if I need to call her even at night or anything to do so because this was X only warning and after that X became aggressive towards me, and M continued with his behavior I did try to talk to the DM but every time he came in he always ignored the baristas and only talked to our manager.

Does this happen to anyone else???

I had a coworker who was a friend at first, but then he developed a crush on me which turned into him basically stalking me at work. He would wait for me to clock out, he waited in the lobby for three hours once, he would constantly try to get me alone and talk to me, was always asking me to hang out with him, and finally he started following me out to my car. He would just follow me to my car and talk to me for a long time, but the straw that finally broke this camel’s back was when he waited for three hours in the cafe while I was working, and when I got off I tried to quickly sneak out but he followed me. I got to my car before he did so I got in and shut the door, but he just stood in front of and next to my car and just waited there. I couldn’t leave without hitting him, and then about 10 minutes later he just opened my passenger door and got into my car without my permission. I told my manager and she handled it great. She immediately sat him down and dealt with it. There is a Starbucks number you can call and all they deal with is HR situations like what you’re dealing with. I will have to look up the number, but you can call them and tell them the entire situation and they will help you. That way you don’t have to worry about going through your manager or DM since your store manager doesn’t seem to be doing anything to help you.

My thing is that I left the company because even when I’d call the partner hotline it would just ring and ring and ring then if it did get answered it was just to hear the drop dial tone, several of my coworkers had complained about X and M but it was mostly an issue with me and I had several break downs because it was so much for me to take mentally and emotionally

Yeah man, if you were having that much trouble with getting help I would leave too. I’m so sorry that happened. Your manager should have stepped in much much sooner.

It stinks because I loved my job and she wouldn’t let me transfer

What do you mean she wouldn’t let you?
