Picking up mobile order through the drive through, annoying or welcomed? (self.starbucksbaristas)

Question from a customer, I always order through the app to avoid the lines. However, on days that I have my 8 month old son with me I don’t feel like pulling him out of the car so I’ll go through the drive through, but still order through the app. Not sure if it’s an annoyance or a welcomed process from a customer. Just curious.

Always welcomed when I’m on drive thru :) I just appreciate when customers specify the name on their mobile order, rather than just saying “I ordered online” lol.

But mobile order on drive thru are a nice breather in the middle of a line of people.

Mobile orders are wonderful in drive! Just please make sure you stop at the ordering box to say who you're picking a mobile order up for.

Definitely welcomed. Usually helps with drive times. That being said, I do think that unless you're the first person in line it's just faster for you to come in.

always welcomed ! it’s only annoying when people pull through without letting us know they are picking up a mobile order. letting us know allows us to have you order ready at the window instead of having to pin it down after you’ve already gotten there.

Yes, I agree. We have one regular who never ever stops at the box to let us know that she’s picking up her mobile order. And she comes through during really slow periods and night when there’s not someone at the window at all times, so sometimes she’ll just be sitting at the window for like 5+ minutes simply because she didn’t stop and let us know.

I love mobile orders in the drive-thru. Just make sure to stop at the box and tell us, just come speeding though the drive-thru to the window.

I think it’s much better than having to get out of your car! Yesterday it was raining like crazy! I wouldn’t blame ANYONE for wanting to go through the drive thru! I welcome it! :) that’s what drive thrus are for! They do it at Taco Bell! 🤷🏼‍♀️

I see it both ways. I don’t mind mobile orders in drive thru. But my particular store is really busy and sometimes the wait for it in drive thru defeats the purpose of ordering online.

Eh, before I was a barista, I didn't necessarily order it online to save time but because I have really bad social anxiety, especially when ordering food/drinks, *especially* when I have a modifier.
