All that happens is a manager will see that there are digital tip funds available when they close down a cash drawer, and the tip funds are pulled from that drawer. All mobile tip funds for the day or since the last pull are included.

We can’t see who tipped us, but we can see how much we got tipped on any given day. When a SS, ASM, or SM closes a register at the right time every day, we’re prompted to remove the amount of digital tips and add them to the weekly tip pool. They’re also recorded in a couple different places, so without giving away specifics, I can tell you that Starbucks makes 100% sure baristas get their mobile tips. Unless somebody’s stealing, but that’s a completely different issue.
