Unfortunately due to nail polish’s natural act of chipping means it cannot be allowed where food and drinks are prepared. If nail polish chips and falls into a drink, that’s a breach of health code (at least here in California). I’ve heard of partners getting a pass if they have a major life event within a couple days of their shift (wedding) and they wear gloves, but other than that, it really isn’t worth risking your customers’ health just to have pretty fingers.

I had to take off my entire week before prom just so I can enjoy having my nails done for once.. and im not at all sorry about it.

Personally I'd rather have hoop nose rings.

One of my shifts wears a hoop in hers and it’s cute as heck and no one says anything to her

That’s gonna be a no from me, dawg. I’m not a fan of breaking health codes and making my customers sick because I wanna wear nail polish while working with food.

I’d rather be able to wear my septum out, and or be able to have more piercings.. I’m sorry! I like having my nails done, but it gets pricy and I’d rather have something I wear all the time be allowed 💕

I wear my septum down and a hoop in my nostril piercing and my manager doesn’t care 🤷🏼‍♀️ I definitely think the piercings rule is sillier than the nails.

I don’t know a single food industry job that allows you to have nail polish when you’re handling , and especially making, food/bev.
