I want to work at Starbucks and was wondering if I should change up my resume (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by Mi1kShaikh
So I (M17) applied for different internships at NGOs, with congressmen, and a start up company. I decided to go with the startup Bc they were the only ones that offered me a job. It’s unpaid but I can make a lot of great contacts. In my career objective I wrote about how I would like to work with the government or an organization that focuses on humanitarian works. Bc the internship I got is unpaid and during the weekdays, I want to work during the weekends. I was thinking of Starbucks bc it’s close to my internship, so I could work there in the evenings and weekends, plus they have the highest pay in my area. Should I change my career objective or leave it? I was also thinking of applying to a movie theater and grocery store and other coffee shops. (Would prefer being a barista bc I love coffee and hours are most flexible with highest pay). Ppl recommended tutoring but I already do it for free, and don’t want to charge the kids I help.

Starbucks has a bunch of philanthropies that are considered humanitarian— so you may be able to talk about that if you get an interview.

But yes, your resume should cater to the job you’re trying to get. A generic resume will ensure that you do not stand out amount the other applicants.
