Am I in the right? (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by RosemarySunshine75
I’m going to make this short.

This morning open was short one person.

So two partners opened, and I got in at six.

Once I got in, the SSV started doing a pastry pull and other things in the back. Things started getting busy but every time I asked the SSV to help, I got a death stare and huffy attitude.

SSV finally helped out at 8:45.

Note:
We have a drive thru. We are the second busiest store in a 35 store city (seeing about 1k people a day).

Should I have said something to the SSV? I’m planning on speaking to the SM tomorrow morning. I just don’t want to be all grade school about this.

Thoughts?

As a shift theres no reason to be in the back for an 2.45 hours thats ridiculous. Its 100% understandable as to why you're upset. Definitely talk to your SM

What was your SSV doing in the back ? If it was just two people opening she probably was trying to catch up on orders. And other task? But 8:45 is entirely too late.

At first it was a pastry pull, then making an order. I’ve just never had an SSV that would leave us high and dry like that.

I agree. I work at an extremely busy drive store and it takes me minimum an hour to complete ALL of my task. and like I try to stay on the floor as often as possible to protect my partners third space. I can totally understand why you’re upset!

I’m a SSV and I would never leave my crew high and dry. If they need my help for anything I’m there. You should definitely let your SM know. Just so they are aware of it and how you and your fellow partners were effected.
