Opinion on Iced Macchiatos: Straw lid or sippy-cup lid? (self.starbucksbaristas)

I’m curious what lid you guys put on iced drinks with the espresso on top. Personally I put on a straw lid because I wouldn’t want my first mouthful to be the bitter espresso on top, but a customer recommended that I use the sippy-cup lids for environmental reasons (which is totally understandable). Just wanted your guys’ thoughts!

I only use the sippy lid for drinks with shots on top or foams, I like to drink the espresso first then have the syrup and milk last to leave a good taste in my mouth and the drink just slowly gets sweeter, Personally I think it's better that way

Espresso is on top for the hot version so I think the iced version would be closer to the intended one. The iced macchiato really is a completely different drink than the hot one if you drink the iced from the bottom

I like using sippy lids for everything now, but I also dont mind the taste of straight espresso :) you could get a reusable straw if you don't want to use plastic ones. Nothing beats the super sweet vanilla milk in the bottom of machiatos lol

I always drank my macchiatos upside down so I prefer it regular with the sippy lid now :D, but as a partner for environmental reasona I always bring my reusable cup, did I mention its only $3 and u get a discount every time you come in ;D
