One of my coworkers calls me the Frappuccino Queen because I keep making different mixes. (self.starbucksbaristas)

So I’ll make some of the s’mores or a strawberry frap or whatever it may be from the menu, but I found a treasure trove of different recipes so I keep making different ones for samples! I’m a new Starbucks employee (been there for about a month) and I’ve just been trying to experiment, I tried to find different recipes for fraps that we could make there so I looked up “secret menu” stuff. My personal favorite right now is a tie between either the Grasshopper Frappuccino or the Cinnamon Bun Frappuccino! Y’all may already know these “secret” recipes exist but they’re new to me and I love them. Here are a few I love!

• Grasshopper Frappuccino (tastes like mint chocolate chip ice cream)
- equal parts mocha and white mocha
- add java chips
- 1-2 pumps of peppermint syrup
- whipped cream (optional)

• Cinnamon Bun Frappuccino (very very sweet, tastes like a liquified cinnamon bun)
- white mocha syrup
- cinnamon dulce syrup
- vanilla bean powder
- cinnamon dulce powder (optional: cover cup in a caramel drizzle and then sprinkle some dulce sugar on the sides as well
- whipped cream and caramel drizzle and cinnamon dulce powder on top (optional)

• Dark Chocolate Raspberry (not actually “DARK” chocolate but tastes like it)
- mocha
- 1-3 pumps of raspberry syrup
- whipped cream and mocha drizzle on top (optional)

• Red Velvet Frappuccino (made this one today! Very sweet)
- equal parts mocha and white mocha
- 2 pumps of raspberry syrup
- whipped cream (optional)

Do you happen to notice the seasoned partners around you rolling their eyes a lot and not including you in their conversations?

Rolling their eyes, no. Not including me in their conversations? Yes. I’ve been there for about a month and a half and I don’t really feel like I fit in with any of them yet. Why do you ask?

Because baristas hate Frappuccinos. Making tons of them and getting excited about “secret” drinks isn’t going to make you any friends.

Edit: This is a pretty common mistake for new baristas and your fellow partners are probably not purposefully excluding you, more likely just watching and waiting to see if you pick up the actual flow of the store. Watch to see what they get excited about and what makes them proud - drive times? Really great foam? Supporting each other through rushes? If you focus more on the actual job of being a barista and less on novelty drinks, you’ll find yourself making friends faster.

They’re discontinued now on the normal Starbucks menu but everything to make them is pretty much there. I’ve only been there a short time so I keep experimenting with things.
