Stop taking it so personal when a customer finds a way to order something to save 30 cents. Starbucks is the biggest global coffee chain. You don't see any of their profits. It doesn't affect you one bit. You're not losing any money, and corporate doesn't care. All you're doing is letting some random person put you in a bad mood. Just give them what they want.

Big mood. I live in one of the poorest counties in my state and people always do these loopholes because when you’re broke but want a microscopic luxury, saving 30 cents is kinda nice. We aren’t losing out on profit because Linda got a triple espresso and a cup of water to make her own americano

sounds fine to me. I was a barista for 6 years at starbucks. yes its annoying when someone orders a venti iced triple espresso and fills their cup up with half and half at the bar. but its completely within their rights to do that. it takes 3 seconds to go to the back and grab a fresh carafe. most of the time partners only get annoyed because they take it personal that the customer thinks theyre stupid or some shit. get over it xD

I’ll never understand taking it as a personal insult! Honestly some drinks are scams and I’m glad people have figured it out. If they want to save a dollar and get a vanilla latte with caramel drizzle instead of a caramel macchiato, or a mocha frap with whip at the bottom instead of a triple mocha frap, good for them. The half and half is free, who cares if they make their own latte?

i understand, and sometimes it’s better to just do it and save your energy on something else. however, when you are loyal to a company and love your job it’s hard to throw all the rules out the window. and i think most of the anger comes from the cognitive dissonance- should i follow policy or make the moment right? everyone is going to say something different and the anxiety of having to make that decision can sometimes turn into anger.

I agree. I worked in a busy mall. We spent a fair share of time shit talking customers who would try to swindle us. But it just is useless. Its not our money. We know what theyre doing. It just adds a negativity that spreads to everyone and creates hostility

mate i was a 167 partner xD ive seen everything possible in a starbucks. even when i worked in florida for a year a florida man was arrested for installing a hidden camera in our bathroom and nobody knew for months.
