I want to be the best barista I can be but I get no support. (self.starbucksbaristas)

Hey friends, I have only been an employee for a year and I took 3 months off for surgery. But I love this job.
I want to stay here for a long time. The problem is I don’t get any bar time. My managers always put me on POS and I want to be more helpful to the store. My manager doesn’t care, before you suggest asking her.
We have an unhealthy work environment honestly and somehow we have to be perfect on our own and you’re not allowed to mess up or ask questions. But with no practice I can’t get better.

Long story short, how can I train on my own and prove that I can do more?

YO I HAD THE SAME PROBLEM

Best suggestion: work around as a borrowed partner. As MUCH as you can. Find stores with positive environments and pick up shifts there. Ask for bar time. If your mama ain't cookin' dinner you go over to your friend's house whose mama always cooks extra. If you ain't gettin' developmental support at your store, find it somewhere else. Same principle.

When your manager is not there ask whoever shift if you can get bar time, and practice when it’s not busy :)
