As we all know, the iced cloud macchiato comes with a nitro lid so when you sip you get a combination of foam as well as the espresso ,, so tell me WHY people INSIST on putting a straw in the sip hole and then complain when all they get is espresso through the straw saying it’s too strong ?? i’ve tried explaining too many times to drink through the nitro lid but they walk away still confused about this concept. tell me i’m not the only one who gets people like this!

You’re not... regardless of straw or not the espresso flavor doesn’t really blend well with the cloud anyway, like you get sweet foam and then ESPRESSO. Which is terrible considering the people who typically drink those types of drinks want sweet.
I like experimenting with the cloud and anytime I do, I always swirl the espresso with a pump of something and it tastes way better that way.

I completely agree, I’ve put cloud foam on top of iced coffee and I think it tastes 100x better since it doesn’t have that intense espresso taste

very true but i feel like sipping through the lid helps mask it a litttllee better since you’re getting all foam first. i’m personally not a fan of the cloud since the espresso is a lot stronger with it tbh

The only time I’ve ever done that is when I got a soy Frappuccino and couldn’t even drink it cause I forgot to get it double blended. I died inside when I put the straw in and walked around feeling like a fucking dumbass

I always tell them we give them a special lid bc it’s a special drink to be enjoyed from the top down. Most people at least try to drink it sans straw. Some still want one. 🤷🏼♀️

If I see them reach for a straw I’m quick to say “I highly recommend trying it without the straw. With the straw you’ll get nothing but espresso and miss all the flavor in the foam that goes with it. They’re usually pretty willing to try. I have had a couple tell me they have teeth that are sensitive to cold which is why they use the straw, so maybe that’s one answer for ya.

Nope and I had a guy ask me why I didn't tell him it was bitter then I kindly said oh it's because you sip through the lid and he said I know that but you didn't tell me it was bitter. But also didn't get a remake. And also glared at me in the cafe. Some people 😒

When people ask me for a straw I tell them I would need to change the whole lid, and they usually get annoyed and leave.

Ngl that’s pretty awful since there’s no reason you can’t just hand over a straw. It’s like someone asking for napkins or a fork. It’s not up to us to question the customer over free items.
