How relative is the term coffee sleeve?(self.starbucksbaristas)

I work by a convention center so we get a ton of business people from all over the US and world for that matter. Anyway, is coffee sleeve a regional term or what? I’ve also heard them be called jackets, cuffs, collars, cup holders, and have had people gesture to me the motion of the sleeve sliding onto the cup rather seductively. Just wondering

I think you mean how universal is the term coffee sleeve, not relative. Relative would be words like “big” or “fast”. To a mouse a cat is big. To an elephant a cat is small. To a turtle a cheetah is fast. To a Bugatti a cheetah is slow. The term coffee sleeve is pretty universal though. I think anyone who drinks coffee would know what that is.

I meant it in relation to region. Like pop vs soda, Jimmy’s vs sprinkles. Universal is too broad in my opinion, like would anything that wraps around a coffee cup be considered a sleeve?

That’s exactly the definition of universal though lol like the way you just explained it is what universal is. It applies to region lol like what you’re asking is if the term coffee cup sleeve is universally known...lol
