Any advice you could give on trying to become a shift lead or when you become a shift lead?

Most of it is a emotional challenge. Trying to stay calm during the worst storms. For example, being understaffed and no one can come in. Baristas or other managers acting out. Store manager not helping you with essential issues.
It’s also frustrating when you give 110% and your never noticed or thanked for it. Sometimes even being asked to do even more.
Get your self emotionally ready for having less then needed for most shifts!
