Y’all. Today I was on register when a customer came up and ordered a grande iced latte with chai. I asked if she wanted a dirty chai, she said yes but that a friend told her to order this way to make it cheaper...
No big deal, right?
Then a barista on bar goes “oh yeah, I tell customers that all the time to save money.”

One of our baristas told this to a mobile customer and she was so happy. The DM happened to be in the store without us knowing and she came up and gave the barista a metal pin and congratulated her for looking out for the customer!

I tell nice guests that all the time lol. Why should people have to pay for the most expensive version of the same dang thing? (It’s corporate greed lol)

I just always see so much hate towards customers trying to “scam” the system so I was worried people would be pissed that we told this customer how to do it , lol.

Yeah I get ya! I just don’t think this one is a ‘scam’ so much as an example of how Starbucks prices don’t make any sense sometimes lol

I know this logic is flawed, but I only see it as a scam if their rude about it. I have a few regulars who order like this but always apologize.

It's a chai latte with one or more espresso shots in it , great hot or cold but definitely better cold ;)
