He didn’t even take advantage of the happy hour (Grande rant... with coconut milk)(self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by graceluvsashley
I unfortunately had to be on register today and we got S L A M M E D at 3:30. Some dude comes in, gets EIGHT VENTI MANGO DRAGONFRUIT REFRESHERS. I asked him *twice* if he wanted the regular one or the Dragon Drink (“made with coconut milk! *smile*) he says no.
I’m THROWING people through the line and moving it quick af. He comes back. He says “Hey, actually I need those all to be grandes.”
LITERALLY WHY.
So I refund him the ventis and charge for grandes, and ask again if he wants dragon drink or regular ones. He says regular. Done and done.
THEN
As my shift is making them and is halfway done he leans over and says “Are those mine?” My poor, sweaty shift (the love of my life) says “yes, you wanted 8 mango dragonfruit refreshers?”
“They were supposed to have coconut milk in them. Those don’t look right...”
SO WE ALL DUMP FIVE MANGO DRAGONFRUIT REFRESHERS IN THE SINK AND START OVER IVE NEVER BEEN SO FUCKIN AGITATED WITH A CUSTOMER
Anyways. Thank u for reading. It is over. Maybe I’ll get my next happy hour shift covered. *sigh*

Oh heck no. "Sorry sir, you asked for regulars, next time order it with coconut milk." 😤😤😤😤

Ugh!! Listening is a skill, people. I wish our customers could handle that.
When people order refreshers I ask if they’d like it with water, lemonade, or coconut milk. It’s a good upsell and makes them confirm the ingredient rather than drink name.

i am so sorry people like that really grind my gears

People like this are the reason I adopted a kind but insulting tone. You want to be treated like a child? So be it. "I'm so sorry! I asked you at the end of your order if you wanted these with or without coconut milk and you said no, but if you'd like *causally gazes amongst the rush* I can remake this whole order for you" *smile* 9/10, they take what their mistake was. I have even gone as far as to repeat the order with every new drink addition. It gets annoying, but then you can confirm with yourself that you said it a billion times to them.

This is the best approach honestly

Maybe my store is totally fucked but that is seriously a daily occasion at our place. Starbucks needs to also make their damn order board a year round board. Customers never know what they want and it doesn't help not having a menu board.

We had someone come in for an iced London fog and had to remake it twice. Her response? "I worked at a Starbucks and every Starbucks I go to make it right why can't you do your job correctly"🙄🙄 I can only imagine how annoyed you guys were with the mango dragon order.

What a jerk! If u work at a starbucks then go back there and make it yourself since obviously no one else can do it for you

She wanted a black iced tea with vanilla and soy milk 🤔🤔🤔 it didn't even taste like a London fog to me to be honest
