Okay Baristas, I have a question for you (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by emmaathomas
So I'm a regular at Starbucks. I've found that I really like the pink drink but with light coconut milk. Lately they've been asking if I want it with no water and I'm like I guess not?? Basically I just wanna know if my drink is annoying to make because I've seen complaints from baristas on this sub talking about people getting drinks and asking for no water. It's usually a Venti pink drink with light coconut milk and more strawberry base.

A pink drink shouldn’t have water in it anyway...

omg no that’s not difficult to make at all. it’s the exact same way we’d make a normal pink drink we just... would add less coconut?? i have no idea what they’re going on abt with water. maybe you could order it by saying “pink drink with extra base and light coconut milk” ?? honestly, it’s not that difficult or weird or inconvenient for us

Don't worry about being "difficult". I'm not sure why people complain about that.

A pink drink isn't supposed to have water. Its the strawberry açai refresher with coconut milk. Which isnt hard to make at all.

I second that it shouldn’t have water either way. I’m guess that instead of adding more strawberry refresher base they’re adding water to compensate for the coconut milk you’re taking out. They’re probably making something like a strawberry refresher add light coconut milk instead.

Maybe the person taking your order wants to verify that you want the pink drink and not strawberry açaí refresher. That’s my best guess. The star berry açaí refresher has water so may it’s just a question to cover the bases and make sure they are getting your order right? It’s hard to say. It’s my guess because I have had a lot of customers lately have some confusion between the refreshers and the coconut milk drinks that have refresher bases

Same, I can't count the amount of times that I've had to remake a mango dragonfruit refresher saying they ordered the dragon drink. So at the register we do often ask if it's the one with water or coconut milk.
