SSV duties! (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by breakfastatdionnes
Good morning all! I’m a new ssv and kinda struggling to catch on to the iPod duty.

Can you guys PLEASE give me a run down of how to do the pull/ inventory count stuff on the iPod?! I’m looking for details such as which app (pull to thaw vs. inventory) and (in freezer vs out of freezer) in step 1, 2,3,4, etc.

If anyone has time, an explanation of the purpose of each step would be helpful for my comprehension as well.

Thanks in advance!! (edit: I am a closer!)

Use pull to thaw for your pull! (Depending on time of day) use the list to count your pastries that you already have available. It will give you a recommended pull amount but I never use it because it never wants you to pull enough, but I always do really big pulls because I like to have more than not enough. Use your own knowledge to do your pull and then input those numbers. Then you’re all done with that app!

InvCounts is to count your freezer/inventory (we do in-freezer count in midday, after the morning pull, before the evening pull) and I go down the list instead of scanning to make sure I don’t miss anything. You literally just count what you have in the freezer. I usually *over*stock all the Madeline’s, dream bars, egg bites, and HCCT in the front so that they won’t need to go to the back to grab more. Then I’ll count the ones that are technically pulled but are in the BOH because at night they forget to count them, and it’s easier for them just to count what’s already in the front.

Out of freezer count is done by the closer right near close, and it’s literally just count the stuff that is in the front of the house, milks, left over pastries, sandwiches, etc. that’s why I count the egg bites/etc in the back fridge, like I said before.

Hope this helped! Lmk if you have any more questions (:

I forgot to add that I’m just a closer! So at night, I do inventory app first, then pull to thaw?

Do your pull first then input your numbers into Pull to Thaw. I recommend doing your inventory count in the last hour-half hour before you close. Go to inv count, (make sure you ask your mid if they did the in freezer count so you don’t fall behind and can get that done earlier *before your night pull* if they didn’t already do it!) then just count what you have in the front of house. The milk count will obviously come from the BOH+FOH, but for food, pastries, sandwiches, only focus on what’s in your front. Btw: Mercato gets 0 in the count because it’s donated nightly.
