I tried to, especially when they asked situational questions and I was able to relate it to my former workplace. thank you!

I was asked about a time that I had to solve a problem in the workplace. What happened, and how I handled it. I was also asked some hypothetical scenarios, like what would you do if a customer had an issue with their drink. The answer is always “making the moment right for the customer”. I’d advise that you focus on your customer service skills because the company is more focussed on that aspect. Confidence and enthusiasm goes a long way as well! Good luck I hope it goes well!

they asked me situational (tell me about a time you ...) and I mostly related it back to my ROTC experience and former workplace. thank you for the advice!

be super friendly nice and smile a bunch!! coffee shops love to hire friendly baristas because customer service and a friendly atmosphere is so important. if you end up ordering a drink while you wait for your interview make sure you say the correct sizes tall/grande/venti and be friendly with the baristas that are serving u. ur gonna do great!

I declined a drink when I first walked in (I was nervous, shaking a little bit, didn't wanna risk it). kept a smile or partial smile while I was talking to them, maintained eye contact, etc. (the friendly stuff). before I left, the store manager offered me a drink again, I accepted. I paid attention, made sure I thanked the managers for the opportunity for an interview and thanked the baristas and cashier.
thank you for the advice, and the confidence boost :)

Highlight how your job isn’t about you. That service is your goal, and that “making the moment right for the customer” is your desire.

What everyone is saying here is great advice! Focus on how you like working with people and having a meaningful interactions with customers.
Also, I asked my manager questions about the Starbucks college acheivement program since she was a college graduate. I asked how her degree helped her in her career as a restaurant manager/what she enjoys most about her job with the company. She really lit up being able to talk about her education and carwer, and ultimately asking those quwstions is how I stood out and got hired.

the manager and I connected on ROTC (I'm currently in, she formerly was) and it was really nice. thank you for the advice!

Just be yourself. The interview questions are more to test your behaviors and how you react in certain scenarios and your general attitude. If your a positive person who enjoys service you’ll do fine. You should be offered a drink, don’t hesitate to accept and order whatever you want. Also know going into it that the job can be tough, frustrating, and demanding but if you have a good manager they’ll take care of you and make it a fun environment. You’ll get tough customers but the awesome ones balance them out. Good luck and have fun. Just be yourself :)

I made sure to stay positive and friendly the entire time. thank you for the advice!

I talked about how i enjoy coffee and want to learn more about it, how it’s made, how to help others discover new coffees. I talked about how I am passionate about coffee as well as people.

if they had asked, I would've had to say I lean more towards tea and cold drinks, lol.
