Opinions on ASU online? (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by paintthatface
I took a couple classes at a community college and now I’m kinda wondering if I should just try ASU online. Is it difficult to get accepted? And is it worth it versus a community college?

not difficult at all to be accepted and 100% worth it

I’ve been doing it for over a year now and love it! Keep in mind I’m a self-motivating person meaning I can get my work done without a teacher in my face watching me. Also you have to sit down and watch lectures and all the same stuff in regular community college. It’s not easier, but definitely easier on your wallet!

I'm new Starbucks. Are you paying a portion? If so, what percentage is coming out of your pocket?

Starbucks pays 40% up front. Since I live in California I’d say the tuition is about 7000 with me taking 13 units. Deducting the 40% you’re responsible for 4000? I take out a loan to cover it then when I get reimbursed I pay back most of the loan. I’ll have maybe 2000 in debt when I’m finished but that’s because I like to keep extra money for books/emergencies. You could totally pay back the entire loan each time if you wanted. This is for every semester btw, not a one time process. A little complicated but worth it.
