Yelling Baristas on the Floor (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by itsallyson
Hey, so many people on these starbucks barista groups claim they’ve been yelled at by fellow baristas, shift leads, and store managers.. I’ve never really seen this happen at my store personally. I would like to hear some stories of why you’ve either yelled at another barista or been yelled at because I just can’t imagine this happening.

At my store , they have favorites, you have to fit in with the group or you're just excluded from a lot. My manager is really never there and when he is he has his favorites. The shifts are only okay to talk to when their click isn't working that shift. I have a leaning disability and it doesn't get made fun of but I'm having a hard time remembering recipes under pressure and they do make fun of it. We had a woman about fifty-ish started working shortly after me and she just couldn't catch on or at least the basics. I've seen them yell and talk to her in such a rude way. I've had friends Join the Starbucks team and be told by their shifts that it's okay if the customer yells at you because they have the right to do so.

I can see where you come from but I've been yelled at by the click and now am sorta part of it when it really comes down to at my store the click is people who work and pick up the slack that others let off and yes we yell at the people who cause us more work example. One of the morning workers take the cover off the dragon fruit inclusions . If you have ever cleaned the dragon fruit inclusions container you will know what kind of issue it is. What make her job easier just leads to one more thing the already short staffed night has to do.(the click is mostly night crew and a few of the mid people) what's the excuse that we are given"well I'm expected to have good drive time I dont have time to lift the lid".ive seen the report might crew is about 10 order per hour less then peak with about 5 less people
