Speak to your SM, speak to your shifts and tell them you want to do something else. Tell your SM you’re getting burned out. They won’t be able to fix anything if they don’t know what’s wrong and they would much rather try to accommodate you than lose you and try to find someone else to hire.

Speak up to your shifts if you haven't already. Make sure they know you would really appreciate bar practice or another position to further develop. And if they don't move you around talk to your SM. No matter how busy it is I always find time to give my greener beans chances to grow. Sometimes newer partners aren't comfortable on bar and if they don't speak up to me I won't force them on it.

In shift lead training it teaches we must rotate positions to make sure partners do not burn out, or get worker illness. Carpal tunnel is a real thing. I would also consider calling up partner contact center if the talks with your managers don’t help.

Its entirely against policy to schedule you like that. You have to have a minimum of 12 hours in between shifts. The only way clopening should happen is if you picked up the shift.... As a shift I'd recommend talking to your shifts, let them know that you want bar practice, or CS, anything but reg. Also talk to your SM.... If those dont accomplish anything there's always partner resources, or your DM..... If it persists you could see about a transfer maybe?

Have you talked to your sm to see if you can have other shifts?
jcb22611 points4y ago
I thought you had to have 11hours between shifts?
silversungoddess3 points4y ago
8 hours between a closing and opening shift.

So staying until midnight for clean play and being back at 4:30 for open *isn't* the standard at every store?
silversungoddess3 points4y ago
Um. No. And it’s against policy
darkroastreeves2 points4y ago
are you okay
DayMan_aaaAAAAaaa1 points4y ago
Yeah, it doesn't happen often, we just have a lot of high school kids who cant work close or open so every once in a while the schedule gets a bit weird
jcb22611 points4y ago
I’m positive it’s 11 hours. Maybe it’s a NY thing
silversungoddess2 points4y ago
Might be state based but on our Starbucks schedule poster it says 8 hours
