Okay, that’s kinda cute
lavender-dreamss [OP] 12 points 4y ago
yeah lmao, it just kinda takes you back a little
MaidenMarian32 14 points 4y ago
My personal favorite is "soos verde" egg bites with "gry-air cheese"
Snuggly_Chopin 5 points 4y ago
Haha! I’m scared to even try to say those. I just ask for the ‘bacon’ ones .
lavender-dreamss [OP] 3 points 4y ago
as a barista, i also don’t know how to pronounce those. “gree-air”??? “sue veedah”?? i honestly don’t know lmao, when someone asks me i make it up as i go
MaidenMarian32 1 points 4y ago
To the best of my knowledge it's "sue-veed" and "gru-ye-air"
decemberisforcynics 1 points 4y ago
my favourite is "gary-air"

I frequently hear acacia, akayee, icee, and akay lol. Also I hear vintay more than I hear Venti. I used to hear vintay so much as a green bean, that I started to question whether Vinte was the original name, and that older customers were just still adjusting to calling it Venti.

My best one was some girl asking for a "TREINTI STRAWBERRY ICKY"
lavender-dreamss [OP] 3 points 4y ago
that’s amazing, i’ve never heard “icky” lol
rainbowrhinestone 8 points 4y ago
oh i feel like ive heard this lmao. so many strawberry ikeas and trentis here, i try to read them back correctly and politely but not outright correct them lol
Snuggly_Chopin 5 points 4y ago
I’ve learned all my ordering styles from you guys reading back to me. Thank you for doing it!
rainbowrhinestone 3 points 4y ago
that makes me happy to hear! no one corrected me before i worked at sbux so i learned it all as i was training lol, it should be common to read back incorrect pronunciation/terms politely in my opinion
kismetjeska 7 points 4y ago
The other day someone ordered a 'grenade' size frappuccino. It killed me and now my ghost is typing this.
StillKnockers 1 points 4y ago
Grenades are very dangerous.

“Grand-ee Megan Drago Fruit”

All damn day.
lavender-dreamss [OP] 3 points 4y ago
i had a lady order a “dragonfly refresher”. i didn’t realize it until the next day because that’s the most outlandish thing i’ve ever heard lmao
mesmerizingtheultra 5 points 4y ago
Well on the flip side, the last shift I worked I asked someone if they would like their peach green tea sweetened but instead it came out as “Would you like your pee sweetened?”
StillKnockers 1 points 4y ago
I asked a customer in the DT what we could get farted for her today. I regularly start talking, usually in DT and fumble my words and just end up going blah blerge doo be blah.
lowkeyblue 5 points 4y ago
I always just say strawberry refresher because im scared to say it wrong
lavender-dreamss [OP] 8 points 4y ago
it’s easier to say “ah-sigh”, but phonetically it’s pronounced “ah-sigh-ee”! hopefully that alleviates your anxiety 💓
thegaysamurai96 4 points 4y ago
This happened at a store I worked in, the lady did it every day and one of the partners made a comment about giving her all of the ingredients and a do it yourself instruction booklet

classicgeri 2 points 4y ago

realyouseff 2 points 4y ago
" Can i get a Trenti Cold brew with soya?"
OoftheClown 2 points 4y ago
I once got this person who came in seconds before our store closed for the night who ordered a "TRONTEY VERY BERRY HI-BISCUITS"
I thought I was having a stroke.
DontAtMeMan 1 points 4y ago
I wish I had seen this before I picked my user name. HI BISCUITS 😂
OoftheClown 1 points 4y ago
LMAOOOOOO!!!!
lavender-dreamss [OP] 1 points 4y ago
i think i did have a stroke
OoftheClown 2 points 4y ago
I genuinely laughed so loud the moment they left the store
capturethegreen 2 points 4y ago
We’ve got two new customers coming in during peak this week asking for “Thai chi” lattes. It’s really confusing for my hard of hearing baristas!
LaurdAlmighty 2 points 4y ago
"Vento" "Grandy" "Akii"
I promise if you try to use your words and actually read it you won't sound like a dumb ass
lavender-dreamss [OP] 4 points 4y ago
i’ve never heard “akii” lmao, but the same coworker had someone order a “treventi” and when she asked “so... a venti or trenta?” the woman said “i said treventi” lmao
LaurdAlmighty 2 points 4y ago
Lmao what
dogspotter6 1 points 4y ago
Ummmm who dis I already posted this
lavender-dreamss [OP] 1 points 4y ago
this really happened, i’m sure we’ve all heard ikea
dogspotter6 2 points 4y ago
No doubt but what if we are coworkers 🧐
lavender-dreamss [OP] 1 points 4y ago
