Okay, that’s kinda cute
lavender-dreamss [OP]12 points4y ago
yeah lmao, it just kinda takes you back a little

My personal favorite is "soos verde" egg bites with "gry-air cheese"
Snuggly_Chopin5 points4y ago
Haha! I’m scared to even try to say those. I just ask for the ‘bacon’ ones .
lavender-dreamss [OP]3 points4y ago
as a barista, i also don’t know how to pronounce those. “gree-air”??? “sue veedah”?? i honestly don’t know lmao, when someone asks me i make it up as i go
MaidenMarian321 points4y ago
To the best of my knowledge it's "sue-veed" and "gru-ye-air"
decemberisforcynics1 points4y ago
my favourite is "gary-air"

I frequently hear acacia, akayee, icee, and akay lol. Also I hear vintay more than I hear Venti. I used to hear vintay so much as a green bean, that I started to question whether Vinte was the original name, and that older customers were just still adjusting to calling it Venti.

My best one was some girl asking for a "TREINTI STRAWBERRY ICKY"
lavender-dreamss [OP]3 points4y ago
that’s amazing, i’ve never heard “icky” lol
rainbowrhinestone8 points4y ago
oh i feel like ive heard this lmao. so many strawberry ikeas and trentis here, i try to read them back correctly and politely but not outright correct them lol
Snuggly_Chopin5 points4y ago
I’ve learned all my ordering styles from you guys reading back to me. Thank you for doing it!
rainbowrhinestone3 points4y ago
that makes me happy to hear! no one corrected me before i worked at sbux so i learned it all as i was training lol, it should be common to read back incorrect pronunciation/terms politely in my opinion

The other day someone ordered a 'grenade' size frappuccino. It killed me and now my ghost is typing this.
StillKnockers1 points4y ago
Grenades are very dangerous.

“Grand-ee Megan Drago Fruit”
All damn day.
lavender-dreamss [OP]3 points4y ago
i had a lady order a “dragonfly refresher”. i didn’t realize it until the next day because that’s the most outlandish thing i’ve ever heard lmao
mesmerizingtheultra5 points4y ago
Well on the flip side, the last shift I worked I asked someone if they would like their peach green tea sweetened but instead it came out as “Would you like your pee sweetened?”
StillKnockers1 points4y ago
I asked a customer in the DT what we could get farted for her today. I regularly start talking, usually in DT and fumble my words and just end up going blah blerge doo be blah.
lowkeyblue5 points4y ago
I always just say strawberry refresher because im scared to say it wrong
lavender-dreamss [OP]8 points4y ago
it’s easier to say “ah-sigh”, but phonetically it’s pronounced “ah-sigh-ee”! hopefully that alleviates your anxiety 💓

This happened at a store I worked in, the lady did it every day and one of the partners made a comment about giving her all of the ingredients and a do it yourself instruction booklet
uncivilOG3 points4y ago

shiphan2 points4y ago

classicgeri2 points4y ago

realyouseff2 points4y ago
" Can i get a Trenti Cold brew with soya?"
OoftheClown2 points4y ago
I once got this person who came in seconds before our store closed for the night who ordered a "TRONTEY VERY BERRY HI-BISCUITS" I thought I was having a stroke.
DontAtMeMan1 points4y ago
I wish I had seen this before I picked my user name. HI BISCUITS 😂
OoftheClown1 points4y ago
LMAOOOOOO!!!!
lavender-dreamss [OP]1 points4y ago
i think i did have a stroke
OoftheClown2 points4y ago
I genuinely laughed so loud the moment they left the store
capturethegreen2 points4y ago
We’ve got two new customers coming in during peak this week asking for “Thai chi” lattes. It’s really confusing for my hard of hearing baristas!
LaurdAlmighty2 points4y ago
"Vento" "Grandy" "Akii" I promise if you try to use your words and actually read it you won't sound like a dumb ass
lavender-dreamss [OP]4 points4y ago
i’ve never heard “akii” lmao, but the same coworker had someone order a “treventi” and when she asked “so... a venti or trenta?” the woman said “i said treventi” lmao
LaurdAlmighty2 points4y ago
Lmao what
dogspotter61 points4y ago
Ummmm who dis I already posted this
lavender-dreamss [OP]1 points4y ago
