I’ve been at my store for about 2 years and this summer when the school year ended (I’m finishing up college) I moved into a house with 3 of my coworkers. I did it out of convenience, because it was either do that (rent is cheap when you split it okay!) or move home all the way across the country and have to restart my degree cuz I can’t transfer credits I have like 1 semester left lol. Plus I love my store so I wanted to stay!
Anyways. Moved in 2 months ago. Told my manager about it ahead of time. He was fine with it, but didn’t say much besides that it was okay and we had to be mature about things.
Fast forward to today. I found out from one of my coworkers (another shift) that she was on her lunch in the back office and our manager was also there doing admin work, and he mentioned to her that he was going to have a talk with me and my roommates. Didn’t give context, didn’t say anything to the actual roommates (this girl he said this to is a coworker but she isn’t in our house so?). He also mentioned to her that two of us have been late a lot (two of my roommates who are notorious for sleeping in too long).
So my only conclusion is he’s wanting to chat about timeliness? But it isn’t my job to police my roommates and get them to work on time! And I’ve been on time/early since I started. Also why is he bringing up our personal business to another coworker? That doesn’t seem okay to me. If you need to chat about it, talk to US. Not someone who has no idea what’s going on and could potentially spread gossip lol.
I’ll update what he says.
