New trainer with questions! (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by twrizzecks
I just found out today that I’m being made a trainer, which is pretty freaking cool. I’m a 260**** so I’ve been at Starbucks for about 7 months.

I know there’s a whole program we need to follow, and my SM is going to go over the training material with me. But we all know there are some things you just have to learn in the field.

My question is this. Is there anything you wish your trainer had told you when you started? My introduction was really hectic so I kind of learned on the fly, but I would like to try and make it as easy as possible on my Green Beans.

Thank you for your help. :)

The first question my trainer asked me was about my learning style. Whether more visual, auditory, or hands on. Im very visual, so she wrote more things out for me and told me to put notes everywhere. I've been with the company 5 years and it was honestly the most helpful thing.

Thank you! That’s an awesome way to start off with a new trainee. I am a hands on learner so I felt borderline obnoxious when I was training like “can I make that??” Lol

One thing I wish my trainer would have done is go over CS with me more. There’s more to Starbucks than just making the drinks and I felt I was trained well on bar but on everything else was just glossed over.

First of all, I love your user name.

Second, I totally agree. I didn’t actually feel comfortable with the CS cycle until about a month ago. Thank you for your help. :)

Thank you haha and yeah I’m only 8 weeks in and I’ve done CS once so I basically suck.
