spent five minutes explaining to her why it said that and why shouldn’t be worried the barista would get confused especially since i was going to be the one making her drink...

I had the same thing happen in cafe. She didn't understand we have to punch it through as iced coffee with milk sub heavy cream.

What's the reasoning for that? Is it to allocate the right amount of iced coffee?

Small price difference and inventory. iced coffee with milk is a little more expensive than iced coffee but less than iced coffee add milk. Also since the iced coffee with milk includes a small amount of milk we can use theno charge milk buton.

At that point I would just put it in as ice coffee “with heavy cream” and be done with it. It’s not worth my time.

Similar thing happened to me, a guy ordered a black tea with half lemonade and I tried explaining to him that it was just a black tea lemonade for ease of ordering and he insisted it was different. I even made sure he didn’t want water. So I put it in the way he wanted to and my partners thought I was stupid lol. I just didn’t wanna fight 🤷🏻♀️
