So I’ve posted here before about a particular partner that I just clash with.. or well they clash with me I guess but whatever. They don’t really do anything and it makes me really angry because they aren’t held accountable and I’ve been stuck doing their work for them because they’re too slow or just don’t wanna do anything. I totally understand just wanting to be lazy sometimes but you got a job to work, not to stand around all day and watch everyone else around you work.

I’m being kept up by the fact that we’re opening together tomorrow and I know they’re not gonna want to do the pastry case but they’re so slow with all the other opening tasks and I’m going to end up doing half of them by the time I’m done with the pastry case anyways. I’m just picturing the confrontation outside the store if I tell them that I’m gonna do opening tasks so they can actually get done before we open and I can hear their little bitchy tone trying to argue.

Do you have those partners like that? Like maybe they think they’re being productive but it’d be more helpful to be short handed or they they think they’re good on a certain position and they’re absolutely not? I’m not a perfect barista and still have a lot to improve on but the effort is definitely there on my part which is more than I can say for some of my partners, but does it really even matter when we get the same amount of credit for our work in the end?

Sorry if this is dramatic or stupid. It is just a job at the end of the day but I’m constantly around these people that invalidate my work and make me feel like I shouldn’t even be trying. I’m getting pretty sick of it. I try to keep a positive attitude and go in thinking about how much I’m gonna get done that day and I see these people not doing anything and it makes me feel stupid for just trying to do my best to keep the store running smoothly for my shift.

Idk man :/

yes, i’m not an opener but a closer mainly and feel like i’m sweating by the time i’m done with all the preclosing tasks + wiping things down + taking care of customers.

some people are okay with putting in the bare minimum. you clearly have a good work ethic and that’ll get you far in life. it sucks and it’s unfair but hopefully you can get some sleep after your shift knowing you put in 110%
