Meh, I’m just hoping corporate starts to catch these kinds of things and they start letting stores drop the hammer.

“Oh, you want a venti frapp put into two tall cups and you want whip on BOTH of the talls? Nope.”

“You wanted to do an ice triple shot with six pumps of white mocha, extra two percent, and whip? Nope.”

“You want a plain black coffee, but half steamed milk? Nope.”

“You want a tall drink, no ice, and a venti cup of ice? Nope.”

“You want a Trenta Drink, no ice, and six tall cups of ice? Nope.”

Other companies immediately shut these kind of things down fast and hard. Starbucks is amazing for their options on beverages, but corporate really drops the ball when it comes to being able to essentially custom make an already created beverage by cheating.

I don’t understand why people get mad though. I always just ring it through because I don’t get paid enough to give a fuck

Because apathy towards what is essentially “wrongdoing” is what causes more of the issues to arise.

Eh... I think if everyone was apathetic it would happen frequently enough that corporate would have to change their policy to save their bottom line

We have the biggest issue at our store with the latte "hacking" people we've started cracking down as a store saying we can only add 4 oz of milk as a standard without charging. Its gotten so bad ive had 4 people call corporate on me, 18+ people curse at me (i stopped counting) and a bunch ask for my manager... The funniest thing though was my SM was on bar during one of her shifts and some lady asked for extra milk at the handoff plane and this is what transpired.

SM: sorry ma'am 4 oz is our standard, but if you'd like we can charge you for a latte and add more

We'll call her karen.

Karen: uh what they do it at the other starbucks no problem

SM: I do apologize ma'am but I added the amount I'm allowed to without charging you extra

Karen: well I want it remade

SM: no problem *gets a sample cup (they're exactly 4 oz)* pours her cream in there and remakes her drink showing her the 4 oz

Karen: well I want extra cream in there so its like a latte

SM: ok we'll get you rung up on the register and i can add more

Karen: im calling corporate this is ridiculous and let me speak to your manager and not the ones that are temporary the salary lady

SM: Ma'am I'm the store manager.

Karen: *shocked and doesnt know what to say*

Sm: Would you like that cream latte, or were you ok with the 4 ounces?

Karen: *grabs drink and goes to storm off*

Sm: Have a wonderful day and let corporate know *SM NAME* said hi

Sm turns to me and goes "idiots, they make customer connections hard"

Yep. It’s about time we get some cracking down done.

Im sick of people trying to order food blended in shit too, no I cant blend ur cakepop into a vanilla bean because you saw it online like jesus people are so easily influenced *cue someone ordering a matcha frap with 10 pumps of raspberry *
TheBoisterousBoy 2 points 4y ago
I legitimately think that was done as a social experiment to see how blindly people are willing to follow someone if they have a YouTube account.

Like, literally the idea of having ten pumps of syrup in a tall sounds disastrously unhealthy, and disgusting.
lecameralady 1 points 4y ago
But coffee with half steamed milk is a mistake? That's not even like a "trick" or a "hack" it's just a different drink 😂
TheBoisterousBoy 3 points 4y ago
That’s my point. People will order it one way, but be pissy when we charge them for a misto.

Not really a Starbucks hack LOL. It’s all ice LUL
whatdidshewrite 1 points 4y ago
It is if they order it with no water though
neopetluvr 6 points 4y ago
I used to get annoyed about it... but they’re just playing themselves by ingesting the extra sugar so who’s really losing in this situation
LM_x847 1 points 4y ago
At our store, we only fill up the drink to where it would be without ice, rather than filling all the way to the top. Its petty, but effective.
