I understand that not everyone is going to get along. You’re not going to like all of your fellow partners. Not everyone is going to enjoy or get along with their SM. Be a fucking adult, accept that fact and come to work to work. If I have one more shift with this specific shift manager who complains one more time about how horrible our manager is IN FRONT OF CUSTOMERS AND VERY LOUDLY I MIGHT ADD I’m going to lose it and go off on her. I’ve already been talking to another partner who knows this specific person about what I should do and she’s told me to go to the SM. I don’t want to hurt the SM’s feelings but something needs to be done about this fucking shift manager who just has such a bad time working that she brings down the entire floor every time she’s working.
One of the things you have full control over is your job. If you are employed in a work environment that you absolutely hate then get the fuck out. You don’t have to torture yourself along with everyone else you’re working along side because you’re in a bad mood constantly.
TLDR; quit your job if you hate it so much that you bring down the vibe of everyone in the fucking store.

I’ve found the best way to deal with this is to just dead pan say, “Wow. Sounds like you’re super unhappy. Maybe this isn’t the right place for you.” And then I walk away. I’ve said this dozens of times in my career (in lots of different roles/industries) and 95% of the time it shuts them up, at least in front of me.

Because I’m tired of hearing everyone else complain about her nasty attitude. I don’t work well in environments where all people do is bitch about their job. I love what I do and that shit puts me in a bad mood. That’s why I’m upset. Don’t question my emotions. Thanks.
