Had a barista who used to make a cheese danish covered in cream cheese and blueberries. Came out great. Decided to make a danish with blueberry drizzle.
Drizzle: pour about an oz of blueberry juice into a tall cup with about 5 pumps of white mocha. Chill for about 5 minutes in the freezer
Danish: double toast it to get it nice and crispy, then lightly drizzle the blueberry ontop.
Flavour was solid and was enjoyable. Pretty messy though. Thinking about trying some blueberry juice, a pack of blueberries, and some white mocha to make a thicker drizzle. Any thoughts?

I had a co worker from my previous store who would sprinkle java chips on top of the cheese danish then put it in the oven.... the chocolate and the cheese went so well together!

That sounds pretty good. I might try it out some.

I am literally about to make this. I think I’m gonna put blueberries on top when I toast the cheese danish in the oven tho

I thought about doing that but we had 2 packs left for today and tomorrow 😂

How do you guys get away with this? We have to buy the food we eat (even though we get it half off), but how would you pay for these extras? (I work in a licensed store so I know it’s not exactly the same).

I work in corporate stores as a SSV. In the districts ive been in, you can pretty much markout what ever drink you want and as many as you want 30 before and 30 after your shift (as long as its within reason.... not like 20 in one shift).
As for food, I am a closing shift. I do food rotations almost everyday. We also make creations that we want under the guise of "sampling." This company has taken too much from me not to give me a free danish here and there 😭

We used to be allowed to take expired food at the end of the night, but our boss was breaking campus policy by letting us (store’s on a college campus). Then apparently people got a little too carried away with taking food (i.e. straight up stealing it and not waiting for it to expire) so now we’re not even allowed to do that. We get one free drink the day we work and 50% off anything else up to $5 off (on days we work). It really sucks but it’s the flexibility I need as a student rn. :/

I commute about 45 minutes two days a week to college and work 5 days as a SSV in my corporate store. The flexibility is great, but I have worked my arse off for my district. They don't have cameras on our pastry carts or fridges, so they couldnt catch me even if they wanted to 😂
raychelelaina2 points4y ago
They aren’t able to catch us because of no cameras, thank god, because people that have been doing it would be fired by now. But all they can prove is the missing food, not who took it. So as long as none of them admit to anything they should be good 😂 and stop doing it of course, since they’ve been talked to lol

If I do a tall cup of water and “add” a banana and blue berries it marks out as a drink. Is this fine? Would I get in trouble for just eating the blueberries and banana?
Spacemarine2142 [OP]1 points4y ago
We got in trouble for that, but it depends on your DM probably.
BodybuildingBarista1 points4y ago
I have a girl that blends blueberries and bananas into a smoothie so I feel like it all marks out the same.
raychelelaina1 points4y ago
But yeah, that’s also everyone’s view, this company can handle this dent to their profits if I just take a sandwich. But evidently our store is too small for it to go unnoticed, and we end up hurting the university. Which has also taken my life, but whatever.
Spacemarine2142 [OP]0 points4y ago
Ya, I don't let my employees steal, but an hour or so before close, expiring food is free game.
2sjt2 points4y ago
I work in a licensed store and we only get free drip, iced coffee, and tea but I bet you’d just ring it up as syrup etc! But yeah I think at other stores food might be free (?)
Nohandlebarista1 points4y ago
I work at a store on my college campus, and we can eat/drink whatever we want within reason, I guess it depends on the district or something
Spacemarine2142 [OP]1 points4y ago
You also get a free food markout every shift (2 if in my store if its over a 10 hour shift).
