Um, our POS is very confusing for the first few weeks, so its totally understandable if you get overwhelmed. Also, all the drink recipes are get confusing. They shouldn't be having you solo bar for a while and almost always the person on bar with you will be willing to answer your "What goes in this?" questions. Also, your trainer should give you lots of time on everything you do, and answer all your questions at the start, so if you feel like you don't feel like you have a good understanding on how to make frapps (for example) then just tell them and they should be willing to re-go over it too.

It's a fun job from day one, but theres a lot to learn. Just try your best and you'll do well.

Prepare to face people who don’t care about screaming at you in public for giving them __ too many ice cubes (and other things like this)

Dont stress too much. It's just coffee. At the end of the day you'll go home and be ok.

i had similar job experiences before working at starbucks and i would just say that in the beginning it’s overwhelming having to remember so many things but just try your best and you get the hang of it after a bit. so just be ready to be stressed in the beginning😅

"Same drink, different syrup."
The formula for drinks making is as follows:
Shots,: 1,1,2,2 (3 for iced)
Syrup: 2,3,4,5 (6 for iced)
Frappuccinos: 2,3,4.
(It'll make sense during training.)
Don't be afraid to have actual conversations with people, you'll be talking a lot.
You have no personal space.
Please, for the love of god, say, "behind" when passing behind someone. "Beside" when passing on either left or right. It's a kitchen, if you don't, you will knock things out of other partner's hands, your own hands, get hot coffee all over something/yourself, etc.
Take advantage of the free bachelor's degree.
Take advantage of everything they offer.
Be genuine.
That's it, good luck.

If you always stay busy you’ll piss off less people (not my opinion, hearsay😂). This way they think you are a hard worker because you are!

The training is super different but I’m also from a licensed store...if you’re fast you’ll be fine!

As much as your enthusiasm is great, it’s a lot different than that. I worked at a licensed Starbucks inside a movie theater before I came, and I was still super overwhelmed. It’s incredibly fast paced and you have a lot to remember.
