Even better: strapping two old aprons to your knees like hockey pads for scrubbing mats.
masterdoormatt52 points4y ago
None of us get paid enough to go through that effort.
Nemoitto20 points4y ago
No fuck no. They should hire someone else for that position. That doesn’t mean treat the place like trash but the pay doesn’t justify all the deep cleaning.
masterdoormatt19 points4y ago
Oh absolutely. Make it look good to the customers, but i'm not paid enough to puke when cleaning because the company doesn't give us enough labor to prevent that kind of stuff.
Nemoitto4 points4y ago
I feel you
TheManWhoThinksAhead3 points4y ago
Spraying under the rinse o matic 🤢
masterdoormatt3 points4y ago
Right???? Getting it done every day is the only thing you can do but i'm sure all of us busy stores know good and well the only time we're able to is during the clean play.
Also, i don't know if you have a mat at your sink, but lifting that up after weeks of neglect is probably the worst thing ever
fcknbrndn45 points4y ago
I’m just trying to figure out how you’re able to do your clean plays during the day...ours are done from 10pm-2am
ciannalael17 points4y ago
Same! Ours is from 1030pm-1230am, it could totally be done during the daytime hours.
ashley-leigh6 points4y ago
Ours is done from 12am-4:30, but this week it’s changing to 1am
NY152Shopgirl [OP]11 points4y ago
We close at 7 on Sundays, so we clean from 7-10
coffeecatmom3 points4y ago
Wait— this is when they have company operated stores do clean plays now??? Not during the day?
elodieme118 points4y ago
Why don't they make the counters reach the floors I nthe first place ugh
stormageddon1033 points4y ago
I've been asking this question for the better part of 9 years now... I still don't have an answer.
elodieme13 points4y ago
Wouldn't it be more hygienic? No spillage under the counters, no croissant flying across
obeehunter13 points4y ago
I used to do this and really get in there. Like I was sweating as I scrubbed and it would always be some crazy stain. Like bits of dry berries, splashes of strawberry refresher inclusion, and the cap from one of the tetra packs all dried into some majestic, unmovable mess.
An hour later, my clumbsy barista would come in and instantly spill the first Trenta refresher order all over the floor. "Oops. Sorry. It slipped."
. . . . .godammit Lauren.
CarelessKai15 points4y ago
this me, im the clumsy barista
obeehunter7 points4y ago
It's a love/hate relationship with your kind.
raptoraptorr12 points4y ago
... yeah my store manager can do that shit if she wants. my less than $10/hr having ass ain’t doin it
Pootz_11 points4y ago
It’s actually insane that Starbucks has managed to force people to do this for the money they’re paying each partner.
CalDoesMaths10 points4y ago
A jobs a job. And Starbucks is a good one, even for minimal wage. And personally, cleaning the floors is one of my favourite things to do in a shift.
GrandpaCody6 points4y ago
I have a partner who got upset with me because I asked someone else to do the floors today instead of him hahahaha. I personally love doing all our dishes and cleaning Hobie
fuckingskeletor7 points4y ago
Trash suit! I did this once when I cleaned under the cupboard where the grinder was! I don’t work for starbs anymore, but what a day that was...

saqueas4 points4y ago
Oh wow, I never thought of this! I usually just set down a bed of paper towels. Thank you! 😂
NY152Shopgirl [OP]3 points4y ago
We close at 7 on sundays so it’s done from 7-10
Wonderful_Nightmare2 points4y ago
Do other starbies actually do the whole list of tasking in the book for clean play every clean play?
MunchYourButt2 points4y ago
our store is one of the only stores in the district that finishes. it helps that my manager schedules her self for most of the clean plays and our partners do what they can while the store is open. by the time we close we just have to deep clean floors and urnex the urns. our clean play is from 10:30-12am and last night we left at 10:40pm
burtmaclin20152 points4y ago
Why not just use a swiffer?
NY152Shopgirl [OP]1 points4y ago
I used the swiffer duster bc the regular swiffer’s handle was too long to fit
Kimbo1852 points4y ago
I hate those cabinets...literally the worst.
deltadawn62 points4y ago
Yea...no
fcknbrndn1 points4y ago
Yeah, we don’t do it during the day anymore and it isn’t daily. We do everything one day a week after closing
