Mobile Happy Hour Horror (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by Lolindir93
It’s prime time during Happy Hour at my store & we get through a line up of drinks like a well oiled Starbucks-Drink-Making-Machine, when we notice a customer standing at the handoff bar staring at my barista.
So I go over to ask if she’s waiting on a drink? She rolls her eyes and replies that she has a mobile order to pickup. There are currently no mobile orders at the pickup station. I ask her for her name to see if maybe we missed it or somebody else grabbed her drink. She replies annoyed “Lisa Villeneuve”. I checked the receipts and there’s no drink for Lisa.

*A common problem we face, are mobile orders getting placed at the location across from us, but customers show up at our location confused as a fart in a fan factory thinking they placed it here.*

I tell her there is no drink that came in for her, and asked if maybe she placed it at the other location by mistake? She said she doesn’t know. So I tell her that I can make the drink for her if I can see her receipt. At this point she is super annoyed with me, and says it’s in her car. I roll with it and ask what drink she ordered. At this point she’s had enough, and she replied frustrated, that she doesn’t remember her exact order and tells me that we should really have better service than this! She walks out in a fury, and hasn’t been back.

This happens so often at our store too - people usually go grab their phone all huffy and angry with us and then come back in sheepishly and say either “my bad, it was to the other store” OR MY ALL TIME FAVOURITE “I didn’t hit confirm”

YES about the "I didn't hit confirm" part, omg!

I remember a mobile customer got so mad at me for trying to help her one time. She ordered an americano. Before that, I called out 2 Americans for Jun, one regular, one half calf. She asks me “excuse me didn’t you just make an americano for Julie?” And I didn’t ring up Jun so I’m like, maybe I read it wrong and he took both drinks. So I ask her “oh I’m sorry, what kind of americano was it?” And she replies “ugh, nevermind I’m in a rush,” then walks out. A couple seconds later, I pull her sticker out of the mobile order printer....

Guys...it’s morning peak. We are clearly busy. Clearly working as hard as we can. Clearly trying to get everyone’s drink out quickly. We are not superhuman. I didn’t ring you up, I don’t know who you are.

I’ve stopped caring or feeling bad for people who complain about being late or in a rush. I’m sorry you’re irresponsible but maybe you shouldn’t gotten ready earlier or stopped for coffee later.

We actually need to have it in their hand before they even walk in 🙃

!!!! This is so common its crazy. We have this happen and it baffles me how it could be our fault in the slightest.

This is common at my store too. What amazes me is that they’ll place it at my store, go to the wrong store have their drink honored and still bug us for a free drink from us. It’s like you still got your drink and want a free one due to your own stupidity. I also love it when we’re just there and they came to pick up their order at my store and they’re just standing there, we aren’t mind readers we don’t know why they’re there. We ask but sometimes they’re just there earphones or phone in hand or ignoring us.

I get it, oversights happen but come on when you place food orders you best note where you’re picking up your shit.

That would involve any effort on their part...

This. All the time... my store vs the one less than 5 minutes down the road is something like “marker and highway” vs “mark and Highway” ...
So not only do we get people who don’t hit confirm, we get sooooo many orders that should have gone to “mark” and vise versa...
