Don’t be scared to tell your guest that you’re new and still learning and to be patient and repeat their order! Remember everything on our POS is organized, so a chai TEA latte would be under teas while blended beverages would be under BLENDED. There’s a lot more color organizations within each category so look at those! I know for our frappuccinos COFFEE based and CREME based are separated and in different colors as well! Also, each individual drink has their build on the left side of the screen! So a iced tea lemonade will have everything it comes with on the left side in little boxes so if someone wants unsweetened or substitutes, just note that under SYRUPS will show LCS (liquid cane sugar, our default sweetener) and it’s number of pumps so that you can modify it! Just look at everything and it’s all there for you ☺️
last note, I always tell this to my new green beans but HAVE FUN. if everyone is around you laughing and conversing or talking to a regular don’t be shy to join in! the positive energy does wonders for your shift and your development! good luck!

Be patient with yourself! It comes with time (Ive been working here for 2 months and have the pos basically memorized). If you have some down time during your shift, study the screens!

I sucked at register for the first 2 days after training and then it clicked. Now I am a pro at POS although I’m still a little dicey on DTO/DTW but it’s getting better. Don’t worry, you’ll get it.

I’m a Green Bean too and have the same worries. But never be afraid to ask for help and if that customer gets an attitude cause you’re taking too long that is THEIR problem. If you feel like explaining to them (which you never have to explain anything to anyone about yourself) that you’re new and that you’re trying to not mess up their order. That definitely buys you patience points with some people.

No shame in taking your time and getting it right. Repeat each drink. Tell them you're still learning the register. With the sheer number of grown adults addicted to sugary concoctions, you'll surely learn where all the specialty drinks are in no time! :D

Deep breaths. It will be ok. It takes some time to get used to reg, but it will happen. None of the baristas on bar should be upset, they know you're new and training. They've been there too. At our store you msy here the barista on bar telling the green bean on reg where things are, but thats mot to be mean its just them trying to help the new ones out.
It will be fine. Good luck!

Also, don’t be afraid to ask questions! Registers are next to bar for a reason. If there’s an issue, just ask.
