are non-starbucks pins considered “dress code”? (self.starbucksbaristas)

i have a ton of pins that i’ve been wanting to put on my hat and/or apron to, ya know, spice things up a bit, but idk if they’re technically considered “dress code”. does anyone else do this or know if it’s allowed?

According to the partner hub, pins have to be issued either by Starbucks or by a labor organization.

I'm not entirely sure but my SM is cool with pins of all sorts as long as it's not a logo or name of something. So maybe ask your manager and see what they say? I know for sure supporting a cause like (mental health awareness/cancer/etc) is allowed.

I have a ton of pins on my apron, both personal and starbucks. My manager said to me that as long as they're not advertising some other company they're perfectly fine, as standard dress code dictates. I'm sure some managers are more cool with it than others, tbh you should probably just check with your boss before putting on the pins.
