Green been shift SOS (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by yung_c_o_c_o_n_u_t
So I got hired on as a shift and the strug is real. I worked as a barista for like 2 days (after the week or so of training) and we’re right into the shift training.

Not gonna lie shit is super stressful and I cry in my car after work every night in the parking lot 🤠

Does anyone have like notes on how closing tills works? What to do in a closing shift? Counts? Pulls? I take notes as I go but like...while I’m working and so the notes are super, super quickly written and out of order.

I’ve worked as a “shift” at other cafes but Starbucks is a completely different animal holy frickkkkkkkshsgsgsshshshsh

I’d appreciate any advice, notes, photos of dogs and overall validation. Do they normally hire people as shifts? I hope not, this is not fun.

I'm right there in your shoes, I just finished my shift training last night. What shift are you normally working or do you work all over the place?

Closes so far! There are so many things to learn with the shift duties let alone the barista duties that I haven’t learned. I can tell that the person training me is getting annoyed and I so hate that feeling.

Best of luck though!!! We got this. 👌🤠

I know learning all the information and trying to get practice on all the stations is hard but you just have to remember is that it just takes time. It took me 3 months after being a barista before I felt like I was comfortable doing my job and another 6 months before I felt confident in my skills. Just take your time and remember it's just coffee at the end of the day 😊
