So I’m transferring back to my store I work at when I’m in school. I have never had weekend availability while in college and today received a call from the new DM that I won’t be able to transfer due to not having weekend availability. What should I do? Should I loose my job over not having weekend availability?

The store your transferring to may already have bad availability options for the weekend. They don't have to add you if they can't use you. But I'm guessing it's a new store manager from when you left?

Starbucks prides themselves on working with availability as well as education. They wouldn’t offer availability forms or promote this if it weren’t true. I’d call your regional manager, go above their heads...

It took me 5 years and 3 SM to get weekends off due to my second job. They don't have to accept transfers if their availability doesn't work with the store.

I feel like more than half the of partners want weekends off due to social lives, other jobs, family, or any other reasons. If your availability doesn't work as the DM claims it won't, then they don't have to accept you back.
It sucks, but my manager always says that he has a business to run. It took me 11 years to get every other weekend off because my spouse works the swing shift and we have no one to watch the kids.
